HoneyGrids for Mola Beauty Dishes
We are excited to announce the new 25 and 45 degree grids for all of Mola’s beauty dishes courtesy of HoneyGrids. HoneyGrids are the only polycarbonate grid that are CUSTOM made for Mola.
Like the FlxGrids we have extensively tested the HoneyGrids for their rigiditiy, mounting and ability to cope with high temperatures. The grids are created to fit snugly inside the recessed outer lip of the dish and secured with velcro fasteners. The grids have an aluminum channel around the grid which adds strength and protection to the edges.
We tested the 28″ Setti Silver + HoneyGrid combo with a Joker 800 from K 5600 HMI lighting to test for temperature handling. The heat and light generated from these units is substantially higher than the modelling lights you would find on studio strobes. The tubular polycarbonate construction had no problem taking the heat!

 Profoto D1 and Mola Reflectors
When using the D1 series of monolights, use the Glass Dome accessory #101561.
The frosted glass dome will illuminate the Mola reflector fully, as the built-in reflector of the D1 is to narrow to give optimum illumination of our reflectors.
The D1 should be positioned so that the base of the glass dome is flush with the base of the reflector.
When mounting a Profoto speed ring for use with a Profoto D1 monolight use the Mola RIGID clips only.

 Mola introduces the 33.5" Beamm reflector.
Based on the Euro format the Beamm's mirrored interior surface produces a highly concentrated, directional light which is unlike our white or satin silver interior finishes. The mirrored surface increases output, but more importantly defines the directional quality which Mola is famous for. The interior diffusion is Opal glass with our new dual stabilizing rings. The Beamm, unmistakably Mola. |
Tungsten Solutions
The Chimera Triolet in combination with any Mola reflector is the perfect tungsten solution. The Triolet with Chimera's vented speed ring and two pin conversion kit is a perfect match for the Mola reflector. Using a 600 watt DYS lamp and either of Mola's two diffusion materials, PAD or Opal Glass, this combination offers Mola users greater flexibity by adding a constant source to what has primarily been a strobe accessory. Chimera's glass dome is another diffusion option when using the Setti or Euro only because of the length of the dome.
